Vastu is the science of perfect living. Let me explain this scientifically. Earth is a very small part of the much larger universe. Compared to the size of the universe, the Size of Earth may be compared to a small dot. But this small dot is a large world for the inhabitants of Earth including we human beings. Earth has four major directions East, West, North and South. It can be further divided into Eight or Sixteen sub - directions. Let’s discuss the four major directions first.
East, the direction of Sun or Sunrise. Every creature needs Sun to survive and therefore East is considered to be one of the two most important directions. East is associated with social connections, networking, spiritual wisdom, Spiritual leadership, growth etc. As per numerology, Sun is associated with King or leadership and both a King or a leader in general need good networking, lionizing and team building skills. Let’s look at what the Eastern part of the Earth provides to the rest of the world. Yoga, spiritual wisdom, wisdom of the Vedas, Bhagwat Gita, Buddhism, Jainism, Zen philosophy, Meditation and the list goes on and on. Western world always looks towards East for peace, Holistic Healthcare, spiritual progress, spiritual wisdom etc. East also stands for holistic life style, vegetarianism, worshiping of nature, respecting and taking care of elders etc.
West, the opposite of East. What can you expect from the land where Sun Sets ? Mostly the opposite of what you have just read about East. That’s why Spirituality, Concept of oneness, Universal brotherhood, Intellectual honesty, generosity, Magnanimity etc. are missing from the West. However, West provides the much needed wealth, Ideas about problem solving & Wealth creation, physical attraction, Glamour, Beautification, business support, progress in business etc. No surprise, the western countries are much richer, focus more on the physical aspects like sex, beauty, dressing, luxury, comfort, Physical Hygiene etc. That’s’ why People from East with similar interests migrate to western countries for better careers, to create more wealth, to lead a better materialistic life etc.
North, the direction of opportunities. What is there in the northern part of Earth or North pole? Ice or water. That’s why it is always advisable to construct water storage tanks in the north direction of your home. I have personally experienced a floodgate of opportunities opening for me when moved into a North facing home. North America is considered as the land of opportunities for a reason!
